I’m hoping to paint the theatre all the colors of the rainbow to help the students express themselves in whatever way they feel best suits their art.

Tasha Johnson is the head of the drama and performing arts department at Waterville High School and she is coincidentally also the director of this year’s devised show going up in the school’s black box this spring. Tasha had high hopes going into the budgeting meeting but, she had those dreams quickly stripped away as the only resources allocated to the spring production were a crisp $50 bill and a bag of Jack Links beef jerky.

“Preposterous! How do you expect me to paint an entire theatre with $50!” Johnson shouted.

“$50 AND a bag of Jack Links beef jerky.” the budgeting suit and tie-wearing man remarked.
