The Theory of Relativity Makes a Lot of Sense Depending on the Way You Look at it.
Hello, my name is Ellie House and I am in my third-year physics student at the University of Houston. Well, a third-year student if you subscribe to the generally accepted units of time on the planet we’ve collectively dubbed ‘earth’.
You see, I’m a physics student and I have opinions.
As my classmates and I have been studying Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity I’ve begun to wonder what we might be studying if ‘X’ were different or it ‘Y’ was altered slightly. Generally, I feel that the General Theory of Relativity makes a lot of sense, ya know, depending on the way you look at it.
If I had been given a new coat instead of a Razor scooter or my 10th birthday might I have not broken my leg the following day and halted my inevitable rise to athletic glory. Might that mean I would never be here, writing and studying relativity? HMMMMMMM?
What would be different had I had the gusto to tell my ex-lover how I really felt about them?
What would have become of me had I resisted the urge to start that food fight in 6th grade?
Yes, the theory of relativity makes a lot of sense, given everything else I think I know is real and not just a simulation. But, a simulation could be real I suppose.
